The best hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon?
I wonder what part of the city of Portland, Oregon would be better for me. I want to be close to many shops and cute cafes for breakfast, lunch, etc., very good restaurants for dinner. I must also be a safe area, because I'll be alone. A little green space is not bad either. I looked at the Hotel Monaco, near Pioneer Square, a safe area to walk alone at night? During the day? Is there much to do in this area? Is it too far to walk to the river? Thank you!
The north of the historic district of Pioneer Square and South Pearl District, and east of the old city has many hotels Charming like you mention. This is very good with lots of character. Some restaurants and quaint shops chain, and there are many shopping place nearby Pioneer (and area ... would look). Then, in the northern district would Pearl, who has many cafes, art galleries, bookstores and clothing stores. Powell also famous books. The tram passes right through the region, and the Portland MAX system is not far. Parks and ... there is a square - Pioneer Square. North Park blocks are not too far, and blocks of South Park are a short tram ride.
